The Carers Association:  A Carers Support Group is held on the second Tuesday of every month where family carers get a chance to meet up and discuss various issues and the whole area of caring.  Contact Richie Molloy at the Resource Centre in Clonmel on 052 70455.

Sacred Dance: The Group meets every second Monday night in the beautiful surroundings of the Centre’s Chapel.

Folk Group/Choir: St Christopher’s Choir and Folk Group and The Suir Valley Folk Group meet weekly in the Centre.

Bunny Hop: Music & movement for 0-4 year olds.  1-hour sessions every Tuesday morning.

South Tipperary VEC Adult Learning Scheme
Provides tuition for adults who want to improve their skills in reading, writing, spelling and basic maths.  The  service is free and confidential and adults can work individually with a tutor or as part of a small group. Migrant Workers/Families English Classes & Workplace Basic Adult Education
A full-time Resource Worker co-ordinates the above classes. For information on either of these contact Lavinia English on Monday or Friday mornings on 052 43031 or 0872904160 at other times.

Art (Oils):  The group is for beginners or more experienced artists interested in developing their skills or pursuing a hobby, initially with formal, practical lessons, developing to independent work. 8-week, Tuesday morning sessions.

Art (Watercolours):  Art classes in water colours and pastels with tutor John Davis. The group attracts beginners and more practiced who are looking to gain a new perspective on the elusive qualities of water and colour. 8-week Tuesday evening sessions.

Basic Irish:  Basic classes in conversational Irish for those with little or no knowledge of spoken Irish. One-hour sessions over 6 weeks

Basic Polish:   Basic classes in conversational Polish.  Very informal with no written work. Six 1-hour sessions

Bridge Classes:  Beginners bridge classes giving the skills necessary to move on to a Bridge Club.  Two-hour sessions over 10 weeks.

Weight Watchers:  Fully trained experienced leaders, give practical support with food management, support and encourage lifestyle change.  Smart Card Technology ensures confidentiality and meeting are held 50 weeks of the year.

Unislim: The programme offered is based on general healthy eating guidelines and moderate exercise to attain slimness, improved fitness, better health and well-being. 

Yoga: Classes weekly on Friday evenings

Pilates (‘The Art of Control’) Pilates is a no-impact exercise system, with emphasis on muscular balance and postural alignment.  It is a very safe and gentle form of controlled flowing movements on the mat and focusing on proper breathing. Tuesday & Thursday evenings for 1 hour

First Aid Courses (Run by the Order of Malta): Basic First Aid including Cardiac Pulmonary Adult and Child Resuscitation.  Open to all - Eight weeks of two-hour sessions

Occupational First Aid: Basic First Aid including Cardiac Pulmonary Adult and Child Resuscitation.  Course tailored to the needs of the workplace.10-week sessions of one morning per week.

Cardiac First Response (Defibrillator) Course: This is a one-day course in treatment in response to cardiac emergencies.  The course is limited to groups of a maximum of six people. Includes paediatric resuscitation.

Civil Defence: Training in First Aid, Rescue, Welfare, Boat Handling, Radio and Communications, Map Reading.  Make friends, improve your social life, have fun, weekend activities, camps etc.  Thursday evenings.

Health Promotion Events and Courses: Health checks, stress management, smoking cessation and other events take place on a one-off or short course basis.

Health in the Community & Skills for Health: Aimed at people working with groups in the community or Health Professionals.For information contact Tracey Tobin, Health Promotion on 052 77037

Manual Handling: This course covers basic lifting and handling for workplace safety. One-off 4-hour course.

Sign Language: 2-hour classes for 10 weeks

Other Services

MABS (Money and Business Advice Service) Citizens Information Service, Cuan Saor, Rape Crisis Service,LES (Local Employment Service), Mental Health Services Clinic, GROW, Al Anon and the Volunteering Service all operate at the Centre on a regular basis, The Chapel is also available for family masses (anniversaries, month’s mind etc.) and concerts and recitals.
